Necessity Of Fasting

"How beit this kind goeth not out but by prayer and fasting."

NECESSITY OF FASTING

In the book of Mathew 9:14-15,we realize that the groom left only when he spent 3 days in the grave. We all believe in His resurrection and the bible clearly tells us that when we received Him He begun to dwell in us, in other words the bridegroom is with us still. So why then do we fast??

Many christians have it on their minds that it's because they fast that they receive results simply because they received results after some serious days, weeks, months, or even years of fasting, this is a very inconsistent way to go about fasting because if you think that what Jesus did on the cross is not enough, then how much more is your fasting insufficient?? , you can't help God by fasting.

Apostle Paul wrote in 1 Corinthians 9:27(AMP) ".........but like a boxer, I buffett my body, I handle it roughly, discipline it by hardships....". Fasting beats, butters the body through denying it food, you deny it of enjoying it's pleasure of food.

GOLDEN NUGGET:
By fasting you bring your body into subjection to your spirit which is one with God's, so those strongholds that could not leave before, through this submission will definitely flee.

PRAYER:
Darling Jesus I thank you for the blessed truth of the finished work on the cross, thank you for the grace to die to self, I bring my body into submission to your spirit, I exercise my spirit through prayer and fasting, for the glory of your name, in Jesus' Mighty Name. Amen.
