Waiting For The Promise

Acts 1:4(NKJV)
And being assembled together with them, he commanded them not to depart from Jerusalem, but to wait for the promise of the father, which he said, you have heard me.

WAITING FOR THE PROMISE.

Jesus is cautioning the disciples not to rush out in excitement to tell what they were about to see, but first wait in Jerusalem and be empowered by the Holy spirit who would give them the boldness to witness for Christ.

Many times our witnessing is ineffective because we get too excited and refuse to listen to God's instructions "to wait" and first assimilate our encounter, putting every piece together in it's right place.

In Luke 24:52, we learn that after Jesus had ascended to heaven, His disciples returned to Jerusalem with great Joy.
Similarly, many of us who have tested God's divine encounter can not contain the overflowing joy in our lives. As we worship in thanks giving, we want to run to everyone to testify about what we have seen God do for us, which doesn't seem wrong at all.

GOLDEN NUGGET:
God's spirit is already with us to fulfill God's purpose in our lives. But we must give Him room to work through us. May we prayerfully purpose to learn how to wait upon God and not rush in excitement, so that we can be fully equipped by His power to effectively carry out His mission here on earth.

PRAYER:
Dear heavenly Father, we thank you for the love, care and blessings upon us. Open for us gate and doors to conquer this world and fulfill our purpose, as we are waiting for your promise to us in Jesus name. Amen.
