The greatest men of God did not achieve what they did by accident. There are things that they did in other men’s ministries by way of service even before they ever stood on pulpits to preach.  They followed a certain pattern by the Spirit even as He led them. They were 'back office" men but as they served in the "back office", they learnt the crafts of the "front office". OUR REFUGE Thursday 24th August 2023 Elgon Bible Study Department Psalms 46:1 NKJV God [is] our refuge and strength, A very present help in trouble. A refuge is a place of safety and protection. It is a shelter or sanctuary where we can find comfort, solace, and peace, one we can turn to in times of trouble and uncertainty.  The psalmist states clearly tells us what the refuge is. He knows it very well and in several portions of scripture, he affirms this with strong assurance about it.  There is a need for us to know exactly where our refuge is before any circumstances hit. The Lord God is surely our refuge, but the question is how well do you know this.  A refuge is not established at the time of trouble, it is done before, at that time, it provides protection and safety to him who runs into. Mind not high things, but condescend to men of low estate. Be not wise in your own conceits.  A broken and contrite heart is one which is able to be altered and transformed daily. It's one which is not harden from the voice of the Holy Spirit and rebukes from others, such is a heart that's vulnerable before God. As a believer God is calling us not to be wise in our own conceits because firstly His wisdoms are manifold. Never draw conclusion nor settle by what you only know about God but be that person who honors the knowledge of God from other people because that's who He is.
